Location Description The Troy, Alabama plant produces peanut butter, with annual production of approximately 78 million pounds. The site supports a team of more than 130 manufacturing and support employees. Troy is a growing community in southeast Alabama and is home to Troy University, one of the largest universities in the state. Responsibilities Position Summary:
Sanitation is a valuable role for any food manufacturing business. Our Sanitation employees perform essential work cleaning and sanitizing out food processing machines and other parts of our facilities to ensure safe and edible product is produced consistent with food safety standards. This role performs strenuous work to remove food waste and machine by-products from the interior and exterior of equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform sanitation responsibilities in assigned work area; follow sanitation manual and best practices to complete daily and weekly tasks. Complete thorough cleaning of production lines during scheduled downtime.
  • Practice appropriate safety procedures when performing work inside and around production equipment or at other locations in facility; observe and follow appropriate lockout/tagout and fall protection practices as outlined by standard operating procedures and safety expectations
  • Proactively report any signs of infestations to your supervisor.
  • Monitor and report all product protection issues as they arise (ex: glass objects in production area that could contaminate product or falling dust into product, etc.
  • Raise questions and concerns to immediate supervisor to ensure all sanitation practices are followed
  • Assist fellow team members in sanitation efforts on other machines, as needed
  • Complete required documentation in the required time frame.
  • QUALITY - Responsible for maintaining quality parameters for areas of responsibility.
FOOD SAFETY
RESPONSIBILITIES- Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems.

Qualifications Education and Experience Required:
  • Must be willing to work weekends, 12-hour shifts, holidays, and overtime
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred .
Must be able to operate boomlift, forklift and scissor lift
Physical Requirements:
Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4+ hour per shift
  • Must be able to stand or walk for up to 12 hours per shift
  • Must be able to reach above shoulders for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to climb/work off ladder for 1+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment, high heat, or humidity for 8+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to push, pull, and feel for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to list up-to 50 pounds for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken or written word
  • Must be able to distinguish object or equipment visually
