Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and proactively implement necessary updates. Lead, develop, and continuously improve the organization's Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures to support a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment. Serve as the primary point of contact for all EHS-related matters with regulatory agencies, auditors, and external partners, while maintaining strict confidentiality of facility operations and processes. Maintain a strong, highly visible presence on the production floor (approximately 70% of time), actively engaging with employees at all levels to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Champion a proactive safety culture by coaching, influencing, and empowering employees and leadership to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and drive ownership of EHS initiatives. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across production and operational areas; ensure timely resolution of identified issues through corrective and preventive actions. Lead incident investigations, including near-misses, injuries, and environmental events; perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies. Organize, lead, and facilitate safety committees and cross-functional teams to drive engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement in safety performance. Develop and deliver EHS training programs to ensure workforce competency and compliance, including onboarding, required regulatory training, and ongoing safety education. Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to integrate Lean manufacturing principles into EHS processes, promoting efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable practices. Manage and track EHS metrics, KPIs, and documentation; prepare reports and communicate performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership. Oversee environmental compliance programs, including waste management, air and water compliance, and sustainability initiatives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. Ensure emergency preparedness by developing, implementing, and maintaining response plans, drills, and procedures.
