This is a 1st shift opening. In this role, you will maintain, update, enforce, and improve the food safety programs already established within the facility. You will lead HACCP risk assessments, identify physical, chemical, allergen, and microbiological hazards, verify the controls used to prevent those hazards, investigate food safety concerns, and help maintain compliance with SQF requirements and regulatory standards. You will also help lead the environmental monitoring program, conduct facility inspections, enforce GMP requirements, investigate deviations and nonconformances, lead CAPAs, train employees, maintain food safety documentation, and participate in audit preparation activities. Pay and Schedule:
Pay Range:
$30-$33/hour 1st shift: Flexible start time between 7:30 AM and 9 AM with 8 hour shifts One to two days per month, you will need to come in early, typically between 2 AM and 3 AM to conduct environmental monitoring and swabbing. On those days, you will leave earlier in the afternoon. Job Duties of the
Food Safety Specialist:
Maintain, update, enforce, and improve food safety programs. Lead HACCP reviews and risk assessments. Identify physical, chemical, allergen, and microbiological hazards. Evaluate the level of risk associated with products, ingredients, processes, equipment, and production lines. Verify that the controls used to prevent food safety hazards are effective. Conduct facility inspections to help ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements. Investigate deviations, nonconformances, and food safety concerns. Lead CAPAs and work with other departments to implement corrective actions. Lead the environmental monitoring program, including determining sampling locations, reviewing results, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Maintain food safety records and documentation. Deliver food safety training to employees throughout the facility. Enforce GMP requirements and help strengthen the facility's food safety culture. Participate in internal audits, SQF certification audits, and FDA audits. Help maintain compliance with SQF requirements and other food safety standards. Benefits of the

Food Safety Specialist:
Experience working with food safety programs within a food manufacturing environment. Experience participating in HACCP reviews and risk assessments. Knowledge of biological, microbiological, chemical, physical, and allergen food safety hazards. Experience investigating food safety concerns and implementing corrective actions. Experience with environmental monitoring programs. Experience preparing for or participating in food safety audits is preferred. Knowledge of SQF, BRC, IFS, GFSI, or similar food safety programs is preferred. Ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and drive improvements.
