As the Construction Safety Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Corporate Safety Officer maintain safety documentation and processes across our construction projects. This role will be responsible for working with the project team to assist in safety documentation necessary on projects. You will help prepare project documentation including safety plans, various safety documents, investigation reports, and other documents. This role will regularly communicate with the Corporate Safety Officer, project stakeholders, and other construction professionals to tackle any project challenges. You will need to have strong organizational skills and construction expertise which are key to successfully completing projects that are safe, delivered on time, and satisfy the client's needs. You bet! Over 20% of MZT's key leaders started in the field. Key Responsibilities Comply with and stay current with changes in safety regulations such as EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and Cal-OSHA. Conduct or assist with incident investigations to determine root cause and identify corrective actions. Aid in preparing comprehensive and precise safety documents including AHAs, AHJs, APPs, Safety Plans, etc. Assist in preparing safety documentation of various forms depending on nature of the project (lift plans, safety logs, daily safety plans, etc.) Assist in developing safety training materials as needed for the projects. Ensure accurate implementation according to project plans and specifications. Organize and manage job files for streamlined operations. Interact with Superintendent, subcontractors, owner's representatives, and other contractors on behalf of the company to resolve safety challenges. Gather and organize daily job reports from subcontractors. Facilitate effective communication and coordination among internal and external stakeholders. Ensure accurate and complete distribution of plans and specifications to subcontractors, Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety, conduct regular safety inspections and address safety-related concerns. Ensure statutes, regulations, and codes are clearly understood and met. Maintain appliable site safety reference material on the job site. Attend project meetings. Conduct weekly safety meetings. Other duties as assigned. Qualification & Experience Minimum 2 years of experience assisting personnel on construction projects of increasing complexity. Internships or degree in Construction/Engineering or related field is sufficient to meet this requirement. Experience with safety documentation such as AHA, AHJ, APP, incident investigation reports, safety plans, project specific safety plans, etc. Good oral and written communication skills Past project experience involving any of the following special projects is preferred: Design-Build, LEED-Certified, Military construction, or
