Job Description
Royal Oak AG Services, Inc . is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented bilingual (Spanish and English) Quality and Food Safety Specialist to join our team. Under the direction of the Safety Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring our crops and operations meet the highest quality standards. This position involves conducting inspections, testing, and maintaining documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage and fulfill client requests for essential documentation, facilitating smooth and successful food safety audits
- Conduct training sessions and creation and implementation of policies and procedures to drive improvement of the overall Food Safety and Quality systems
- Perform inspections of plants, equipment, and related parts for cleanliness
- Lead sanitation practices on proper cleaning and sanitation of the facility (2nd shift)
- Conduct monthly audits, report findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Manage quality related activities and non-conforming product inventories.
- Conducts raw product and water sampling as needed
- Inspect packaging materials for compliance with labeling and specifications.
- Collect and evaluate samples, sending them to outside labs for testing.
- Collaborate with external pest control services, maintaining documentation.
- Participate in food safety and quality inspections, audits, and calibration activities.
- Communicate quality issues to appropriate contacts and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support new product development in collaboration with the Ranch Manager, Safety Director and other departments.
- Instructs field personnel on Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) as required
- Responsible for regulatory updates and how they apply to current production.
- Support and maintain policies and procedures as needed
- Serve as lead auditor for internal audits and schedules the internal audits with other team members.
- Performs and ensures required training is maintained.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the company food safety programs.
- Provides leadership and technical assistance to operations by management of food safety
- Handle confidential information with discretion and assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Agriculture experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, with strong verbal and written communication
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong time-management and multitasking skills.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Highly organized with analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to be proactive in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- A strong work ethic, team player attitude, punctuality, and job dedication
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, walking agricultural fields, and climbing on and off equipment
Work Environment:
- Mostly outdoor, with occasional indoor work, may include exposure to heat, wind, and dust
- Full-time, Monday through Saturday, with occasional after-hours work depending on seasonal operations
Travel Required:
- Frequent travel during seasonal operations
