SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION
The Environmental, Health, & Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the EH&S Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Function Name The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required: Administration of a training program by coordinating training time, conference rooms, and required participants. Provide training on safety to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify possible root causes and create corrective actions Lead the identification and correction of safety risks and environmental impact. Assist employees with safety supplies. Track and distribute supplies. Support and drive safety team meetings, take notes during meetings, update meeting minutes, and communicate. Perform administrative duties for the EHS department including but not limited to general data entry, filing of training records/documentation, tracking payments, ordering safety supplies, and reviewing/updating schedules to local, city, and state regulations. Interface, record, and follow up on department purchases with the Purchasing Department for new and repeat orders. Refill First Aid Kits, tracking usage and completion of various tasks. Manages and enforces PPE based on the Company PPE policy and SOP. Conduct monthly checks on fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and safety showers. Update building evacuation maps and post where needed. Conduct monthly audits and provide feedback on findings and corrective actions. Support operations during emergency response activities. Serve as a role model for safe personal practice Ensure all safety procedures and policies are aligned with OSHA, local, state, and federal law Working with all departments on safety matters Serve as a role model for safe personal practice Other Duties Other tasks as assigned by the Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent to years of experience 5 + years of EHS and have manufacturing environment (preferred) Ability to communicate effectively and conduct the presentation Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions Ability to manage projects and meetings and lay a close attention to details Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to work around various chemicals in a manufacturing environment. A work ethic that includes a strong desire for continued improvement Also solve problems with a positive attitude and sound attention to details

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 20 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.
ENVIRONMENT
: The manufacturing facility is exposed to electronics assembly equipment and materials. May require working in a controlled environment with specific temperature and humidity requirements. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to perform the work.
