Job Description

HP Oilfield Services is a rapidly growing oil and gas company in need of a dynamic Health and Safety Team Member to enforce safe work practices in their Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, North Dakota, Utah and Texas operations. The Safety Team Member will be responsible for implementing and reinforcing policies, procedures, and training programs consistent with sustaining a safe workplace. This position will require regular travel into the Colorado, Utah and Texas areas. This is a position with 60-70% travel time. Job Duties and Responsibilities Actively participates with the HSE team in development, implementation, and evaluation of Safety Programs. Promote culture change using behavior based safety principles. Coordinate all Safety, DOT, OSHA, EPA, and client compliances with field supervisors and and managers in the assigned region. Responsible for efficient delivery of all safety trainings Assist in development and implementation of procedures and training for all safety related issues. Manage all permits, reports and applications for EPA, DOT, etc in assigned regions. Work closely with Operations to build collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries and functions. Maintain contact with client safety representatives once a month at a minimum (phone, email, etc) Attend all training required by clients and build rapport with safety staff. Perform inspections of all company work areas, shops, trucks, equipment, field locations. Documentation of inspections should note safety violations, concerns and unsafe conditions Ensure all staff has required safety training (H2S, Safeland, Hazmat Awareness, First Aid, CPR, etc.) that is required Prepare spreadsheets, track data and develop summary reports to management team Ability to build effective working relationships with all organizational staff levels Stay current on changing regulations as well as Industry Best Management Practices. Respond to and perform investigations and root cause analysis for accidents and near misses. Maintain PPE inventory and distribution for assigned region Conduct detailed investigations of existing and potential safety and health hazards making recommendations for corrective actions. Conduct new hire safety orientation. Act as the technical resource in respective operating areas for EHS and DOT related issues in the assigned region. Perform job hazard assessments and generate reports and recommendations based on findings. Recommend safety improvement/accident prevention methods. Serve as a catalyst to ensure compliance Assure conformance with federal, state, and municipal legislation and regulations regarding environmental control in the assigned region. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Office, shop, company yard, client locations Training conducted in classroom and location settings Outdoors in all weather conditions at all times of day and night year round Public, private, and lease roads/properties Requirements/Skills Prefer a working knowledge of the
FMCSA, OSHA
Prefer a clear understanding of oil and gas regulations, and Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations. Ability to read and interpret regulations. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must possess exceptional writing and verbal communication skills. Must be able to clearly communicate policies and provide training to staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Platform (Drive, Mail, Sheets, Slides, Etc.). Valid driver's license (Prefer a CDL Class A or Class B, Tanker, Haz-Mat) Ability to train Safeland, CPR, etc. Ability to interact with all managers, administrative staff, and field staff using good social skills, and able to work with diverse work groups. Extensive Travel Flexibility to work additional hours/weekends, as required Ability to be hands on is essential Ability to be on call and respond to emergencies when needed.
