Job Title:
Health and Safety Specialist Job Description The Health and Safety Specialist will serve as the on-site safety leader for the installation of ClearSpan® temporary industrial fabric structures at a major construction project near Kemmerer, Wyoming. These structures function as industrial warehouse and support facilities for large-scale projects and involve coordination across multiple trades, including ironworkers and electricians. As the sole safety representative on-site, this individual will drive a strong, proactive safety culture and ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations and safety standards throughout the duration of the project. Responsibilities Serve as the on-site Safety Manager for all ClearSpan installation activities and act as the primary safety resource for the project. Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project safety orientations to ensure all personnel understand site-specific hazards and safety expectations. Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and task-specific risk assessments to identify and control potential risks before work begins. Perform routine site inspections and safety audits to verify compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements. Partner closely with field leadership, subcontractors, and trade personnel to proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate hazards. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain accurate and organized safety documentation, including reports, records, and inspection findings. Ensure full compliance with client, contractor, and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Promote a proactive, positive safety culture among all site personnel through coaching, mentoring, and consistent presence in the field. Manage and continuously improve the site safety program, incorporating lessons learned and best practices from ongoing project activities. Essential Skills Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification. OSHA 30 certification. At least 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably supporting industrial, commercial, energy, or large-scale construction projects. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and incident prevention strategies. Demonstrated experience leading safety meetings, conducting JHAs, and managing site safety programs. Ability to work independently and effectively as the sole on-site safety professional. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with field leadership, subcontractors, and trade personnel. Experience working in construction and industrial environments. Specific experience in industrial construction safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working around structural steel and ironworkers. Experience collaborating with electricians and other skilled trades on heavy construction activities. Experience in health and safety within construction or industrial settings. Proven ability to foster a positive safety culture on complex job sites. Why Work Here? The environment involves active industrial construction with multiple trades, including ironworkers, electricians, and other field personnel, working around structural steel and heavy construction activities. The schedule typically consists of Monday through Friday, 10-hour workdays, with a 7-day per diem provided at $150 per day to support travel and living expenses while on assignment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Henderson, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
