Location:
Watertown, CT Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and occupational safety (EHS) programs, while providing subject matter expertise across the organization. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. Manage and maintain
ISO 14001
(Environmental Management) and
ISO 45001
(Occupational Health & Safety) certifications at the Watertown site, while coordinating globally to drive consistent policies, procedures, and best practices that support safe and environmentally sustainable facilities and operations. Plan, administer, and continuously improve the workers' compensation program for U.S.-based employees, ensuring effective case management, regulatory compliance, and cost control.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
standards, OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation, and all applicable federal, state, and local EHS requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills Ability to work independently and take initiative Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead environmental, health, and safety programs, including employee training on hazardous materials, job-specific safety requirements, conservation, and OSHA compliance. Identify and implement process and environmental improvements to enhance sustainability and operational performance. Ensure local
ISO 14001
compliance and support global systems that drive continuous improvement in reducing waste, energy consumption, and natural resource use. Develop and implement occupational health and safety programs based on OSHA and other regulatory requirements; oversee program deployment across global facilities. Coordinate and deliver employee safety training, including but not limited to bloodborne pathogens, machine guarding, hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, accident prevention, indoor air quality, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and all applicable health and safety regulations for U.S.-based employees. Plan and administer the Workers' Compensation program, including incident investigations and case management. Conduct periodic assessments and evaluations of occupational health and safety programs. Ensure all training, monitoring, and compliance requirements are effectively implemented and maintained. Serve as a global EHS resource for employees, supervisors, and leadership. Perform safety inspections and approval signoffs for new and refurbished equipment at the Watertown facility. Manage procurement of facilities equipment and supplies related to employee health and safety. Partner with Plant Engineering and Facilities to prioritize and complete work orders, especially those related to safety and preventive/predictive maintenance. Develop and update EHS procedures, policies, and guidelines; implement changes as needed. Schedule, coordinate, and conduct all EHS and compliance training activities. Maintain accurate and complete EHS records and documentation. Lead EHS committees and coordinate member activities and initiatives. Lead incident investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions; prepare required reports. Inspect work areas, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Conduct internal EHS audits. Perform facility-wide safety, environmental, and regulatory audits; communicate findings and recommendations to department managers and plant leadership. Drive continuous improvement in safety culture, aiming to meet and exceed organizational safety goals.
