• Be part of making an impact in public health alongside dedicated people just like you As a PH Environmental Health Specialist at the Georgia Department of Public Health , you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Under general supervision candidates will:

Evaluate programs for compliance with Georgia Environmental Health Regulations and perform inspections of the following: On-Site Sewage Management Systems, Animal Bite Investigations, Food Service Establishments, Public Swimming Pools, Tourist Accommodations, Body Art Studios as assigned Provide customer service to the public, industry personnel, contractors, and partner agencies Investigate Environmental Health complaints Drive a personal vehicle and/or company vehicle for work daily Perform both indoor and outdoor work in various climates Perform data entry related to EH activities as requested Respond to public health emergencies Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) and one (1) year of experience at the lower level PH Envir Compl Specialist 1 (RCP120) or equivalent position.
