Full-time Job Summary:
The Safety & Environmental Coordinator supports the company's health, safety, and environmental (EHS) programs by helping ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, delivering training, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. This role will support safety initiatives, compliance documentation, employee training, incident reporting, and ongoing safety communication, including monthly safety tips and awareness materials.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly safety training sessions and ongoing safety awareness programs through in-person classes, printed materials, and monthly safety tips
  • Develop and share monthly safety tips to promote safe work practices and increase employee awareness
  • Serve as a key safety point of contact for employees and management regarding safety-related questions and initiatives
  • Monitor and support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Homeland Security regulations, including applicable trucking requirements and laws
  • Perform regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and support corrective actions
  • Manage incident reporting processes, including documenting, tracking, and maintaining accurate records of incidents, accidents, and near-misses
  • Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action recommendations
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining company safety policies and procedures
  • Support environmental initiatives, including greenhouse gas emissions reduction, waste management, and sustainability programs
  • Maintain accurate records of training, inspections, compliance documentation, and incident reports
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a proactive safety culture
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in safety, environmental health, or a related role
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory standards
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train diverse teams
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Relevant certifications, such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or CHST, are a plus
