Job Description
Position Overview The EHS Coordinator is responsible for providing daily, site-level support for Environmental, Health & Safety programs within a heavy-industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on executing safety processes, supporting training, conducting inspections, maintaining documentation, and assisting with incident response at the plant. The coordinator implements EHS programs developed by the global EHS team and serves as an on-the-floor resource for employees and supervisors. This position does not own regulatory compliance, environmental reporting, or corporate EHS programs, which remain the responsibility of global EHS leadership. Key Responsibilities Training & Onboarding
- Conduct site-level new-hire safety orientations.
- Coordinate and deliver routine safety training sessions.
- Manage and conduct forklift certification training for employees.
- Maintain accurate training records. Safety Support & Inspections
- Perform regular safety inspections and walkthroughs, report findings for corrective action.
- Escort EHS-related vendors and contractors while on-site.
- Provide daily EHS presence and support to plant operations. Incident Response & Documentation
- Assist with incident response activities, including collecting photos, statements, and documentation.
- Complete and track incident reports and corrective actions.
- Submit site-level data to global EHS for corporate reporting. Safety Communication & Coordination
- Serve as Safety Committee scribe; maintain minutes, action items, and follow-up.
- Support monthly or quarterly safety meetings and site communication activities.
- Maintain all plant level EHS documentation, logs, and safety files Qualifications Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of safety experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with plant staff, supervisors, contractors, and visitors. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
