Job Description

Overview Join our growing team as a Safety Assistant, where your proactive approach and keen eye for safety will help foster a secure and compliant work environment. In this vital role, you will support the implementation of safety protocols, assist with training initiatives, and ensure adherence to occupational health standards. Your energy and attention to detail will contribute to a culture of safety excellence, empowering our workforce to operate confidently and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in workplace safety while making a tangible impact on daily operations. Duties Assist with implementing, and maintaining safety procedures aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations. Support safety training sessions and development programs for manufacturing staff to promote awareness of occupational health practices. Assist with regular safety inspections and audits across manufacturing areas to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Participate in root cause analysis investigations following incidents or near-misses, helping identify underlying issues and prevent recurrence. Maintain detailed reports on safety observations, incident reports, and compliance documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Support first aid initiatives by assisting trained personnel during medical emergencies and ensuring first aid supplies are stocked and accessible. Assist with workers' compensation law compliance by documenting incidents accurately and supporting claims processes as needed. Performs other job- related duties as assigned. Experience/Skills Prior experience or familiarity with manufacturing environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, occupational health principles, and EPA standards is highly desirable. Report writing skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and comprehensively. Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem-solving related to safety issues. Effective communication skills for delivering training sessions and collaborating with team members at all levels. Demonstrated commitment to safety training & development initiatives that foster continuous improvement in workplace safety practices.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment, including relevant safety and technical skills training, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
