These functions include answering and routing phone and email inquiries to the department, assisting drivers with compliance related questions and documentation, paper and E-log auditing, tracking of safety related training provided to drivers and other terminal employees, maintenance of fleet safety compliance records Answers phone calls to the Safety Department and routes calls to the proper personnel. Provides clerical and administrative assistance to the Safety manager and other terminal management as requested. Responds to routine inquiries from owner operators and employees regarding safety and compliance matters. Routes more complex safety and compliance inquiries to the proper personnel. Assists as directed with the on-boarding and training process for owner operators and other personnel. Under the direction of the Safety Manager audits driver logs for regulatory compliance. Maintains and updates various safety and compliance records and reports. Promotes and enhances the Companys relationship and reputation with its corps of owner operators. Remains accessible to the owner operators to answer safety related questions or to advise them with regard to specific problems or concerns. Acts professionally and ethically at all times. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One or more years of experience working in a transportation safety department. Working knowledge of the FMCSA hours of service and driver qualification regulations. Proficiency in utilization of standard office suite computer software and ability to learn specialized document management and compliance programs. Excellent organization skills, with the ability to multitask. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Commitment to company values.
