Job Description

FSQA Field Specialist:
Indianapolis, IN. Position Summary The FSQA Field Specialist is responsible for supporting food safety and quality execution within warehouse operations through facility audits, employee training, process verification, compliance observations, and food safety culture development. This position serves as the field-facing representative of the FSQA function and works directly with warehouse leadership, supervisors, and associates to reinforce compliance standards, identify risks, verify corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across operations. The role spends the majority of its time in warehouse environments supporting operational execution and compliance. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacility Audits & Inspections
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and compliance assessments.
  • Perform GMP, sanitation, and food safety audits.
  • Verify compliance with established operating procedures.
  • Document findings and communicate improvement opportunities.
  • Support customer and regulatory audit preparation activities. Training & Employee Development
  • Deliver food safety, GMP, sanitation, and quality training.
  • Conduct new employee food safety onboarding.
  • Facilitate refresher training programs.
  • Support development of training materials and job aids.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through observations and assessments. Operational Support
  • Conduct floor observations to identify food safety and quality risks.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to resolve compliance issues.
  • Verify execution of corrective actions.
  • Reinforce food safety expectations throughout daily operations.
  • Support implementation of new quality initiatives. Food Safety Culture Development
  • Promote food safety awareness and accountability.
  • Serve as a resource for operational teams regarding food safety requirements.
  • Coach employees on best practices and compliance expectations.
  • Support engagement activities that strengthen food safety culture. Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in root cause investigations.
  • Assist with implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify recurring compliance issues and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support standardization initiatives across facilities. QualificationsRequired
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in food safety, quality assurance, warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics.
  • One to three years of experience in food safety, warehouse operations, quality assurance, or related environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and coach employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently in operational environments. Preferred
  • HACCP certification.
  • GMP or food safety training experience.
  • Experience conducting audits or inspections.
  • Food-grade warehouse or manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with FSSC 22000, SQF, NSF, or similar standards. Physical Requirements
  • Extensive walking throughout warehouse facilities.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and temperature-controlled environments.
  • Ability to climb stairs and access operational areas.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Success Measures
