Kansas City | In-Office | Full-Time Summary The CAD Specialist is responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining accurate technical drawings and schematics in support of Life Safety and fire protection projects. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and internal teams to ensure drawings meet project specifications, industry standards, and compliance requirements. Daily Per Diem While Traveling Company-Paid Flights, Hotels, and Transportation Employee Referral Program What You'll Do Produce accurate technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD Create, revise, and maintain Life Safety CAD files, schematics, and as-built drawings Interpret and update blueprints, construction documents, and design layouts Support project teams with drafting throughout the project lifecycle Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and consistency Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and system specifications Apply industry standards and best practices in CAD drafting Follow applicable Life Safety, fire protection, and compliance guidelines (including NFPA where applicable) Assist with special projects and ongoing drafting initiatives as needed Who We Are REMEDI8® is a national leader in passive fire protection and compliance solutions for healthcare and commercial facilities. What We're Looking For 3+ years of hands-on proficiency using AutoCAD Direct experience with CAD/drafting for Life Safety Background in construction, engineering, fire protection, or related technical industries Strong ability to interpret and work from blueprints, construction documents, and technical drawings Certified Life Safety Specialist (preferred, not required) Working knowledge of NFPA codes and Life Safety compliance standards (preferred) Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional project teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn company-specific software tools Physical Requirements Regular standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching Ability to climb ladders and work above ceiling spaces Ability to work in confined spaces and containment units Ability to safely lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions Additional Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age to meet company driving and insurance eligibility requirements Valid driver's license required. Ability to obtain and maintain identification necessary for work-related travel is required Ability to travel up to 50% of the time Ability to work occasional overtime, nights, weekends, or modified schedules as business needs require
