Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Safety Officer to assist with the implementation of all aspects of our health and safety programs. This individual will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety excellence across all facets of our operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and helping to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain, develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, PHSMA, FERC, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations Lead safety training initiatives, including onboarding and ongoing employee education Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations to identify risks and implement corrective actions Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents to promote safe work practices Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation Serve as one of the primary points of contact for all safety-related matters Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
3-5 years of safety management experience, preferably in pipeline construction or related field Strong knowledge of OSHA, PHMSA, DOT, FERC, and other applicable governing regulations Proven leadership ability and experience managing safety teams and programs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft applications Ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred) Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Experience working in pipeline or energy sector environments
