Job Description

The Patient Safety Clinical Specialist assists the Patient Safety Director and AVP of Patient Safety in the development, implementation, analyzing, coordination, and evaluation of patient safety systems and processes. Works to encourage and support a culture of safety in the organization. Utilizes nursing and clinical expertise to lead or participate in multidisciplinary patient safety projects and improvement teams. Bachelors degree in nursing is required. Current Kentucky RN licensure is required. Five years of direct hospital-related clinical experience is required. Experience in leading or facilitating teams is preferred. Active certification in Patient Safety or CPHQ is preferred. The ability to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and legal counsel is required. Ability to review and interpret medical records for potential liability issues is required. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and utilize improvement tools is required.
