Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace environment. This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead safety initiatives, develop impactful training programs, and ensure adherence to environmental regulations. As an EHS Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of promoting occupational health and safety practices across manufacturing operations, empowering teams to operate efficiently while minimizing risks. Your proactive approach will help cultivate a safety-first culture that supports both employee well-being and environmental responsibility.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and direct the site's Safety Committee, holding meetings to increase employee awareness.
  • Develop, facilitate and deliver safety training for employees based on facility needs to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Oversee the investigation of work-related illnesses and injuries. Determine root cause and implement corrective action.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Operations to support workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and workplace accommodations
  • Manage emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
  • Prepare OSHA and other governmental reports as required.
  • Prepare and distribute reports on safety metrics such as leading indicators and incident rates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct periodic plant audits, working with plant management and maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution of identified opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage hazardous waste activities and support environmental compliance initiatives
  • Receive and compile plant SDS's.
Candidate Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of related Safety experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems. OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
  • Process Safety Management / Risk Management Plan experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
