Job Title:
Sanitation Specialist Job Description The role involves effectively cleaning all assigned areas within and around the manufacturing plant, including equipment, machinery, and general grounds. You will need to adhere to food safety standards and proficiently use plant touch screens while following CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures. Compliance with HAACP principles is essential, as is the safe and proper use of cleaning tools such as squeegees, mops, brooms, hand and floor scrapers, and paint brushes. Understanding and following labeling instructions on cleaning products and sanitizers is crucial. Responsibilities Clean all designated areas inside and outside the manufacturing plant. Maintain and operate plant touch screens and adhere to CIP procedures. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and HAACP principles. Use cleaning tools correctly, including squeegees, mops, and brooms. Understand and correctly apply labeling on cleaning products and sanitizers. Essential Skills Experience in sanitation within a manufacturing setting is preferred. Familiarity with GMP, janitorial duties, and food safety practices. Ability to operate cleaning tools and understand HAACP principles. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2-3 years of experience in sanitation, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience as a custodian, janitor, or sanitation worker from other environments is also considered. Why Work Here? Work Environment The company operates in a GMP manufacturing setting, producing flavors for oils and other substances. It's a fast-paced, production-based environment requiring strong communication skills. Employees must wear a hair net, beard net, and other PPE, and may need to shave once a year for a respirator fit test. The role involves working on a small team of sanitation workers, requiring the ability to work independently. Steel-toed shoes are mandatory. Shifts are from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abingdon, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
