Job Description

We are looking for a proactive Safety Professional to help lead our safety programs, support field operations, and ensure we meet all regulatory requirements and grow with us as we continue to expand. Position Overview Vic's Crane & Heavy Haul, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Professional to support the company's safety and compliance programs. This position assists with implementing and maintaining company and federally regulated safety policies, procedures, and processes in the field, refineries, jobsites, and office environments. The Safety Professional will also support DOT compliance and help promote a strong culture of safety throughout the organization. Safety Professional Responsibilities Support and implement workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with company, OSHA, MSHA, ANSI, DOT, and site-specific standards. Provide employees with safety-related training and information, including emergency procedures, hazard awareness, and proper use of PPE and safety equipment. Assist in monitoring daily operations and identifying opportunities to improve safety performance and compliance. Perform safety audits, inspections, and jobsite evaluations to identify and mitigate hazards and unsafe conditions. Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to reduce workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational health hazards. Lead and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions in both small and large group settings. Intervene and stop unsafe acts, behaviors, or processes and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Assist with DOT compliance, including driver qualification files, medical cards, drug and alcohol program requirements, and regulatory documentation. Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and incident reports. Assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and follow-up corrective actions. Work closely with Operations, HR, Dispatch, Project Managers, Drivers, and Field Personnel to support safe work practices. Promote a positive, team-oriented safety culture throughout the company. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field preferred; or equivalent industry experience in a safety-sensitive role. Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, crane, transportation, heavy haul, or industrial safety preferred. Must successfully pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, and motor vehicle record review. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, federal safety regulations, and industry best practices. Knowledge and understanding of DOT and FMCSA compliance requirements. Ability to conduct inspections, analyze data, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records. Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills with the ability to lead by example. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Valid safety certifications , including OSHA 10/30, MSHA, Competent Person Training, First Aid/CPR, or similar credentials. Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems. Must be able to travel to daily local job sites as needed, including occasional planned overnight trips a few times a year. Must be able to work extended hours during peak seasonal times Flexible schedule for special projects, as needed
