Summary :
The Field Safety Specialist ensures that all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, along with applicable state and federal regulations, are strictly followed by project leadership personnel. The role involves providing and/or identifying safety-related training, conducting inspections, and ensuring full compliance with construction safety standards across active job sites. This position also includes handling non-routine correspondence and managing highly confidential and sensitive information. Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Functions Conduct construction site and safety audits and inspections. Actively participate in project handoff processes, including site preparation and team coordination. Document inspection findings and recommend corrective actions using internal systems. Perform quality control inspections of field leadership to ensure compliance with safety documentation (e.g., pre-task planning). Ensure job sites are properly equipped with PPE, safety equipment, potable water, sanitation facilities, and first aid supplies. Provide guidance and consultation to field teams to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with regulations and standards. Assist leadership in enforcing safety policies and environmental health guidelines. Deliver safety training to project personnel on topics such as OSHA standards, First Aid/CPR/AED, fall protection, forklift operation, aerial lifts, confined space, heat stress, NFPA 70E, and tool safety. Maintain records and documentation of training certifications for all personnel. Attend and represent the organization at safety meetings with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Assist in incident and near-miss investigations, including reporting and documentation. Provide technical safety oversight, testing, and field support as required. External Responsibilities Build and maintain strong professional relationships with field personnel, project managers, contractors, and clients. Ensure client satisfaction with the safety program through consistent communication and collaboration. Represent the organization professionally in all client and site interactions. Job Specifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and manuals. Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1926 and 29 CFR 1910). Working knowledge of
NFPA 70E
electrical safety standards. Experience with safety documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to write clear internal and external reports and correspondence. Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and training abilities for both small and large groups. Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and priorities. Strong teamwork and leadership collaboration skills. NFPA 70E
Electrical Safety Qualified Person certification required. Minimum 2 years of experience in construction site safety coordination or a similar role on major construction projects.
