Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) B Driver to join our transportation team. In this dynamic role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including paratransit vans, motor coaches, school buses, and shuttle buses, ensuring safe and efficient passenger and cargo transportation. Your expertise in vehicle operation, adherence to safety regulations, and excellent customer service will help us deliver reliable transportation solutions while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties Safely operate CDL B vehicles such as paratransit vans, motor coaches, school buses, and shuttle buses on city streets and designated routes Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and vehicle maintenance standards Assist passengers with boarding, alighting, and providing special needs or passenger assistance as required Navigate city streets efficiently using GPS or maps while adhering to traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Communicate effectively with dispatchers using two-way radios for driver communication and report any incidents or delays promptly Ensure passenger safety by enforcing safety rules, managing passenger behavior, and driving defensively in adverse weather conditions or challenging traffic scenarios Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and passenger counts in compliance with DOT regulations Qualifications Valid CDL B license with appropriate endorsements such as air brake certification Proven experience in bus driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driving with a strong understanding of motor coach or limousine operations preferred Knowledge of traffic laws, city street navigation, and transportation safety regulations at the state and federal levels Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle inspections and troubleshooting minor issues Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with passengers and team members Ability to operate two-way radios effectively for driver communication Experience in passenger assistance including special needs support is highly desirable Demonstrated defensive driving skills with a clean driving record; experience driving in adverse weather conditions is a plus Strong commitment to safety protocols related to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and passenger safety

Pay:
$24.50 - $25.00 per hour
