Job Description

Overview The Safety Specialist is responsible for integrating health, environmental, and safety (HES) practices into the daily operations of a cross-functional team, including production operations and support functions for construction and I&E projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company HES policies within oil and gas operations. Responsibilities Develop and implement new and existing programs designed to improve HES performance. Plan and coordinate emergency response activities. Conduct audits and assessments, maintaining accurate records. Handle internal and external HES reporting. Develop and prepare written reports on safety and environmental matters. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in health, environmental, and safety (HES) within oil and gas operations. Competency in excavation and trenching, lifting/hoisting operations, and safety oversight of subcontractors on job sites. Demonstrated proactive attitude towards personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors, and the public. Working knowledge of HES regulatory requirements at federal, state, and local levels. Experience in developing, delivering, and managing safety, health, and environmental programs. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to influence behaviors to create a safer working environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to collaborate with employees, contractors, landowners, city officials, and regulatory personnel to reduce safety and environmental incidents. Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Team-oriented, flexible, self-starter with minimal supervision. Proficient in computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; HES-related degree or certifications strongly preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements, including background check, drug test, hair follicle test, MVR, agility, and fit-for-duty assessment. Strong initiative and self-starter, with the ability to keep neat and accurate records.
