Extensive travel required Position Summary Olson Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Safety Coordinator to support our traveling electrical and industrial projects. This position will be responsible for maintaining a strong safety culture in the field while ensuring compliance with
OSHA, MSHA, NFPA 70E
, and applicable project safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical construction safety experience and be comfortable working in mining, aggregate, heavy industrial, and other challenging job-site environments. MSHA experience is preferred , particularly experience working directly on mine or aggregate sites. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and monitor daily safety activities on electrical and industrial job sites. Ensure compliance with
OSHA, MSHA, NFPA 70E
, and customer/project safety requirements. Conduct daily job-site safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Work with supervisors and electricians to correct unsafe conditions. Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and corrective actions. Conduct and support safety orientations, toolbox talks, and employee training. Review and assist with JHAs, JSAs, pre-task plans, and hazard assessments . Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Help ensure proper electrical safety practices involving arc flash, energized work, grounding, PPE, and safe work procedures. Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, training records, and reports. Communicate safety expectations clearly to employees, supervisors, subcontractors, and customers. Participate in customer safety meetings and project safety audits. Promote a proactive safety culture rather than simply reacting to incidents. Travel to various project locations as required. Qualifications Previous experience in construction, electrical, industrial, mining, or heavy industrial safety . Electrical safety experience strongly preferred. MSHA experience preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements. Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safe work practices . Experience with LOTO, arc-flash safety, PPE, hazard assessments, and job-site inspections. Experience conducting safety training and toolbox meetings. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Ability and willingness to travel extensively. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. MSHA Part 46/48, OSHA, CSP, or other safety certifications are a plus.
