This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients across diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and inpatient environments. As a key member of the care team, you will assist patients in regaining independence and improving their quality of life through targeted therapeutic interventions. Your expertise in occupational therapy, combined with your enthusiasm for patient-centered care, will help foster positive outcomes and meaningful progress. Responsibilities Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and safety. Implement individualized care plans developed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring each patient's unique needs are met effectively. Support patients across various settings including home health visits, outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and skilled nursing facilities. Apply your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately document patient progress and treatment responses. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, safety strategies, and adaptive techniques to enhance daily functioning. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless delivery of services tailored to each patient's condition. Maintain compliance with all healthcare regulations and documentation standards while delivering high-quality patient care. Qualifications Valid certification as a Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with current licensure or registration as required by state law. Prior experience working in home health settings, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred. Strong understanding of occupational health principles, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care environments. Knowledge of medical imaging procedures is a plus for supporting comprehensive patient assessments. Familiarity with care planning processes and ability to assist in developing effective treatment strategies. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations including elderly adults and children. Ability to communicate complex medical terminology clearly and effectively to patients and team members.
