Performs jobsite auditing and conducts incident investigation. Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable Health and Safety regulations and standards.
Detailed presentation and reporting of safety activities and results including complex data analysis and trendingParticipate in incident investigations and track corrective actionsProactively cycle P-D-C-A safety compliance programs to reduce injuries and hazards and ensure continuous improvement of safety characteristics of assigned areasConduct new equipment reviews, mechanical risk assessments and ergonomic risk assessmentsParticipate in emergency response drills and critiquesConduct new hire orientation, contractor safety and other SH&E related training topicsDevelop/update site specific programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulationsMaintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3

Focus on improving Health and Safety at the Jeffersonville site by using experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace and engage employees in the development of a strong Health and Safety culture. Evaluates workplace compliance with regard to local, state and federal regulations. Functions as an expert resource to teams for consistent implementation of LH Battery.Performs jobsite auditing and conducts incident investigation. Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable Health and Safety regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
Support assigned department to be main contact for Health and Safety (HS) to assist departments in achieving HS goals and objectivesAssist in managing theISO 45001
certification process and lead the HS Compliance Team to drive continuous improvement in HS programsEnsure hazard identification and mitigation for plant operations and administrative officesConduct daily line walks to ensure HS practices are being observed and to note any at-risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment or non-compliance with any HS related policies/regulations Ensure timely communication of safety issues/concerns to department leadership Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvementsPerform and document complex safety compliance activity to include: Critical communication cross verifications and implementation of strategic safety projects and initiatives.Detailed presentation and reporting of safety activities and results including complex data analysis and trendingParticipate in incident investigations and track corrective actionsProactively cycle P-D-C-A safety compliance programs to reduce injuries and hazards and ensure continuous improvement of safety characteristics of assigned areasConduct new equipment reviews, mechanical risk assessments and ergonomic risk assessmentsParticipate in emergency response drills and critiquesConduct new hire orientation, contractor safety and other SH&E related training topicsDevelop/update site specific programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulationsMaintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3

Bachelor's degree required in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering ore related field required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experienceProfessional certification (ASP/CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred2-4 years of safety experienceKnowledge/Skills:
Interpersonal relationship skillsDetailed understanding of major health and safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI)Detailed understanding of injury/illness prevention strategiesAbility to communicate with all levels of the organizationVerbal and written communication skillsOpen to mentorship guidance for personal skill growthExperience using Microsoft Office productsStrong planning and prioritization skillsAdvanced data analysis and problem-solving skillsComplex understanding of business plan, budgeting and cost reporting.Expertise with root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures
