Job Description

Job Summary APS Innovation provides engineering and field support services in the secondary battery production equipment industry, with a primary focus on laser equipment. The company currently supports five U.S. sites where business travelers from the Korean headquarters and locally hired employees work together. This position conducts site safety inspections, monitors compliance with company and customer safety requirements, maintains safety documentation, and coordinates corrective actions. The role also supports business travelers, housing, vehicles, company assets, insurance, expense settlement, and other administrative needs required for efficient site operations. The position requires regular communication with project managers, employees, business travelers, customers, vendors, and internal departments in both Korean and English. Responsibilities Site Safety Management Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with company safety policies, customer requirements, and applicable OSHA regulations. Conduct routine safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, equipment, and work practices. Require immediate corrective action when safety risks or violations are identified. Exercise stop-work authority when an imminent danger or serious safety concern is observed. Verify the proper use and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE). Monitor high-risk activities, including electrical work, lockout/tagout, work at heights, hot work, material handling, equipment installation, and commissioning activities. Coordinate safety requirements with project managers, employees, contractors, and customer EHS representatives. Communicate changes to customer safety policies and site-specific requirements. Risk Assessment and Work Authorization Prepare, review, and maintain Job Hazard Analyses and Job Safety Analyses (JHA/JSA). Review planned work activities and identify potential hazards before work begins. Support daily pre-task meetings and Toolbox Talks. Verify that required work permits are completed and approved before high-risk work begins. Confirm that appropriate control measures are implemented and maintained. Update risk assessments when the work scope, equipment, personnel, or site conditions change. Safety Training and Compliance Coordinate safety orientation for new employees, business travelers, and contractors. Track completion of customer-required safety orientation and site access training. Maintain records for OSHA, LOTO, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, First Aid/CPR, and other required training. Monitor training and certification expiration dates and coordinate renewals. Provide safety instructions and compliance guidance to Korean business travelers. Support Korean-English interpretation during safety meetings, training, and incident-related communication when applicable. Safety Inspections and Corrective Actions Conduct daily, weekly, and periodic site safety inspections. Maintain inspection checklists, photographs, findings, and supporting documentation. Assign responsible persons and completion deadlines for corrective actions. Follow up on open items and verify that corrective actions have been completed. Support customer safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews. Identify repeated safety issues and recommend preventive or corrective measures. Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency exits, first-aid supplies, and other safety equipment as assigned. Incident and Emergency Response Immediately report workplace injuries, incidents, near misses, property damage, and safety violations. Secure the incident area and support the appropriate emergency response. Collect incident details, photographs, witness statements, and other supporting evidence. Prepare incident reports and assist with root-cause investigations. Develop and track corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate incident-related communication with management, customers, Human Resources, and General Affairs. Provide supporting documentation for workers' compensation claims when required. Maintain the confidentiality of employee medical and incident-related information. Business Traveler and Site Operations Support Manage assignment status, schedules, and operational updates for business travelers and local employees across company sites. Coordinate flights, hotels, rental cars, ground transportation, arrivals, and departures. Maintain business traveler and site personnel lists, including assignment locations and scheduled arrival and departure dates. Manage dormitories, guest houses, hotels, housing assignments, contracts, move-ins, move-outs, and occupancy status. Support utility setup, internet access, furniture, appliances, living arrangements, and issue resolution during employee stays. Communicate housing rules, emergency procedures, and applicable safety requirements to residents. Support communication with customers, vendors, business travelers, and internal departments. Provide Korean-English interpretation and translation support when applicable. Vehicle and Transportation Management Manage company vehicles and rental vehicles, including purchase, lease, rental, assignment, registration, insurance, inspection, maintenance, and repair schedules. Maintain vehicle assignment records, authorized driver information, mileage logs, and supporting documents. Conduct or coordinate periodic vehicle condition inspections. Collect monthly vehicle photographs and verify weekly vehicle log submissions from each site. Monitor vehicle insurance, registration, and inspection expiration dates. Coordinate accident reporting, repair estimates, insurance claims, and temporary replacement vehicles. Confirm that drivers comply with company vehicle policies and applicable safety requirements. Corporate Administration and Document Management Maintain corporate registration documents, business records, meeting minutes, contracts, and operational documentation. Track key contract terms, expiration dates, renewal schedules, and supporting documents. Organize site records, safety documents, insurance files, vehicle documents, and housing records. Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for management. Protect confidential company, employee, financial, and customer information. Qualifications Ability to communicate in English for work-related matters Korean-English bilingual ability preferred; English-only candidates may also apply Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Ability to manage multiple schedules and tasks systematically and adapt to changing priorities Ability to review and organize documents and cost-related materials accurately Strong communication skills for employees and external vendors U.S. driver's license required Ability to commute to or relocate to Lansing, Michigan before start date Ability to start within approximately one month after interview Ability to support customer sites and field operations as needed Benefits Medical and prescription drug insurance Dental and vision insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Sick Leave Relocation assistance up to $1,500
