BASIC PURPOSE
To provide clerical and dispatch assistance to the Dept. of Campus Safety.
Hours:
Mon-Thurs 4pm to 10pm (24 hours per week)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer non-emergency & emergency phone lines and assist callers accordingly. Dispatches campus safety personnel, via two-way radio, to calls for service. Monitors and replies to portable radio communications from both campus safety and facilities/custodial personnel. Assists "walk-ins" at the Campus Safety Dept. office. Monitors numerous security camera "live feeds" and remote door unlocking / locking systems throughout the campus. Logs access card distribution to on-site contractors. Monitors Campus Safety Dept. emails and handles the recording and processing of Campus Safety Dept. issued parking tickets. Handles the labeling, logging, securing, and returning of Lost & Found items while maintaining the associated database. Contacts Emergency Services / "911" for law enforcement, fire company, or EMS response, as well as notifying fire alarm monitoring stations for alarm testing. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Campus Safety and / or the Campus Safety Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education/Training/Work Experience:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required Six months directly applicable experience preferred Communication and computer skills
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of specific computer software (Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, etc.) Customer Service experience
