We specialize in failure and damage assessments, restoration, and remediation consulting, building envelope assessments, claims support, and expert witness/litigation, support for thousands of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings, and properties nationwide. For more information, : heainc SUMMARY Halliwell is seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Consultant to join our team of experts. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in environmental health, occupational hygiene, and risk assessment, with the ability to review and interpret technical data and reports critically. The ideal candidate will possess state-specific licensing such as a Mold Assessment Consult (MAC) and an Asbestos Consultant, or the ability to obtain these licensed within six (6) months of employment. Higher level credentials such as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation, a Master's or Doctoral degree (PhD), or similar qualifications are preferred. The consultant will support projects involving contamination assessment, health hazard evaluations, and regulatory compliance, providing insights from a scientific and public health perspective. The goal of this position will be to grow Halliwell's local presence and build a team to service Texas and surrounding markets.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • -Conduct in-depth review and analysis of scientific data, reports, and assessments related to environmental exposures, contamination in food and consumer products, and occupational health hazards.
  • Assess contamination sources in food, consumer products, and other materials to determine origin and causative factors utilizing scientific principles.
  • Identify and evaluate potential health hazards associated with exposures in occupational, residential, and commercial settings.
  • Provide technical input and review for projects involving environmental and safety compliance evaluations related to business operations.
  • Deliver detailed reports and findings to clients regarding biological hazards, exposure assessments, and contamination sources.
  • Support litigation and consulting projects with expert analysis, technical evaluations, and clear, scientifically supported documentation.
  • Assist in conducting environmental and safety compliance assessments, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive technical review and quality control of project deliverables.
Key Requirements include:

Education:
Master's or Doctoral degree in toxicology, environmental science, public health, industrial hygiene, or related discipline
  • Certification:
    Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required
  • Experience:
    Proven background in environmental health, risk assessment, industrial hygiene, contamination investigation, and technical report review
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proven ability to interpret complex scientific data and reports
  • Effective organizational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards
  • Expertise in scientific methods relevant to environmental and occupational health
  • Ability to assess, interpret, and critique technical reports and data from various sources
  • Familiarity with contamination analysis, biological hazard identification, and regulatory compliance
  • Approximately 25 to 50% travel which will be reduced once a stable foundation is established, and additional support is warranted.
