Overview:
Safety Inspection Technician Safety Inspection Technician ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of healthcare facilities by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing life safety systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and fire suppression equipment. This role supports a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by performing routine safety checks, responding to emergencies, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards from agencies like NFPA, OSHA, and DNV. The technician works closely with Life Safety Supervisor, Compliance manager. Additional partnership with facilities and safety teams, maintains detailed records, and assists in safety training and emergency preparedness activities. This role will travel to various facilities as required and may have company vehicle Main office for Department located at Sentara Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia Key Responsibilities Perform regular inspections and testing of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, and other life safety systems. Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections, repairs, and compliance reports. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for system repairs and upgrades as needed. Respond promptly to system malfunctions, alarms, or emergencies, and provide corrective actions. Ensure compliance with applicable safety codes, regulations, and accreditation standards. Support emergency drills, safety audits, and hazard assessments. Educate staff on the proper use of life safety equipment and emergency procedures. Participate in the development and implementation of safety improvement initiatives.
