Job Description

Position Summary The Environmental Specialist is responsible for working with facility management to effectively direct, implement, monitor, and manage key environmental, health and safety issues inside and outside of the manufacturing facility. Focus areas will be on environmental compliance management, auditing, inspection. They will assist with safety monitoring, training and procedure implementation as needed. Role and Responsibilities 1. Support development, management, and implementation of EHS Programs, Policies and Procedures, Compliance/Risk assessment programs, and Safety trainings. 2. Administrate and maintain company air, water, waste, and chemical activities and compliance programs. 3. Perform environmental regulatory audits and advise company on compliance with state, local and federal environmental regulations. 4. Make investigation into all on site incidents and property damage under the direction of the EHS Manager. Follow-up should be done to minimize future exposure. 5. Advise on compliance issues and report violations to EHS Part Leader and leadership of the company as needed. 6. All other duties ass assigned. #

Skills and Qualifications •
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or Engineering or other related degree. •
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety area (Working experiences with local regulatory agencies preferred). •
Knowledge:
Working knowledge on all its legislative obligations (i.e. EPA SWPP, SPCC, Tier II, Title
V, NPDES
) and company EHS policies and procedures, Storm Water Discharge sampling and documentation, knowledge of emission control devices and related compliance •
Skills:
Technical writing skill, Interpersonal skills, Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and process/procedure interpretation • Physical requirement: Able to lift up to 35 lb.
