We provide general contracting, construction development and construction management services to commercial, multi-family and industrial clients. J.A. Fielden has completed more than 460 projects throughout the eastern United States since its inception in 1992. Our project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors have created a culture of working together to plan projects to minimize the effects of material volatility, manpower shortages, weather impacts, and other potential delays. We encourage input from subcontractors, vendors, and others when developing schedules and constantly provide updates to adjust for changing conditions. Providing client-focused services has always been our key approach as we continue to exceed our customers' expectations. As an Industrial Safety and Compliance Specialist at J.A. Fielden, you will: Develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the industrial division including, but not limited to, enforcing and providing interpretive guidance on OSHA laws, regulations, and standards. Collaborate with management and the Safety Director to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules. Ensure completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting. Stop operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment. Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. Conduct employee training on applicable safety standards. Review safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates. Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations. Review of accident and incident reports. Participate in federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard development, ensuring that federal standards are reviewed, adopted, and finalized as required by applicable administrative procedures laws. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with federal agency counterparts to facilitate support for the state OSHA plan. Supervision of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans. Actively participate in staff meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Weekly travel is required. Ability to concentrate and multi-task Ability to follow directions and take initiative when required Must possess the ability to work effectively with others, build relationships and resolve conflicts Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct training. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. May require the ability to enter and traverse accident sites.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma required, Degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field preferred Active status as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or comparable certification preferred. Minimum 3 to 5 years of industry experience in OSHA field preferred J.A.
