What to Expect You will be a key member of the Construction
Safety team, working on Tesla's most advanced infrastructure projects on
Earth-delivered at record speed. Tesla operates in a demanding, fast-paced
environment that demands a highly motivated self-starter with a strong bias for
action. As the Sr. Construction Safety Specialist, you will play a pivotal role
in influencing, inspiring, and empowering construction teams, stakeholders, and
partner contractors across current and future Giga Texas projects. You will drive
the implementation and continuous improvement of Tesla's Environment, Health,
Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) strategy-building and maintaining a
safe, healthy, and high-performing workplace. Working directly on-site, you'll provide
hands-on support to Tesla's construction teams and onboarded contractors,
ensuring Tesla's rigorous EHS standards are not just met-but consistently
exceeded. Reporting to the Construction Safety Manager, you'll be instrumental
in setting clear safety expectations and fostering a robust safety culture
across all contractor partnerships. What You'll Do
Provide field safety oversight of construction
work activities for major infrastructure projects. Conduct project walks
focused on safe work practices and conduct coaching conversations with workers
when corrections are required
Be a visible model in the field, teach, train
and coach business teams and support staff on fundamental EHS&S concepts
and principles to reduce risk, and influence, inspire, and empower business
teams and staff to reduce risk per our Tesla EHS&S vision, values and
principles
Participate in reviews for high hazard work
prior to execution to include critical lifts, confined space entries, high
voltage work, pressure testing, fall protection plans, etc. Review Pre-Work
Risk Assessments and Pre-Task Plans to ensure tasks, hazards and mitigations
are in alignment with the work being performed in the field
Conduct proactive field activities and
facility processes inspections to verify work in progress meets EHS&S
goals, and document findings using internal and external software tools and
applications; review improvement opportunities with EHS&S management,
supervisors, operations managers, and stakeholders
Present material and information to the Tesla
construction management team and contractors during safety meetings. Be a
resource to the construction project management team and provide guidance,
assistance and direction regarding EHS requirements
Perform frequent combined safety and
environmental inspections and procedural audits in the field and have the
skills, knowledge and ability to take immediate corrective action if required.
Present findings and relevant information to the Tesla construction management
team and contractors when needed
Ensure compliance with Local, State and
Federal health and safety regulations What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and
Safety, or equivalent experience
GSP, ASP or CHST preferred
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in
an extremely fast-paced and changing environment
Background in electrical, mechanical and
process plumbing systems, or heavy civil preferred
Working knowledge of OSHA, ISO, ANSI, NFPA and
ASTM standards
Ability to
communicate clearly and interface across multiple departments Compensation and Benefits
