Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Job Overview Valex - Round Rock, TX are seeking a dynamic and proactive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to champion our commitment to workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs that foster a secure, healthy, and sustainable work environment. Your expertise will ensure adherence to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), Workers' Compensation Law, and other relevant regulations. Join us to make a tangible impact by promoting safety awareness, conducting training sessions, and leading root cause analysis to prevent incidents before they happen. Duties Administer, maintain, update, and confirm strict regulatory compliance with programs relating to hazardous material acquisition, use, storage, and disposal. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions. Lead incident investigations by performing root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions. Develop and present safety-training programs. Integrate 5S practices with EHS initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance within the facility. Facilitate consistent communication and knowledge sharing across locations, including lessons learned, incident trends, and regulatory updates. Monitor workplace conditions to ensure occupational health standards are met or exceeded; recommend improvements as needed. Stay current with evolving EHS regulations and industry best practices to proactively update policies and procedures.

Qualifications Proven experience in manufacturing or industrial environments with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and EPA regulations. Certification in first aid, CPR, OSHA safety training, or related fields is highly desirable. Knowledge of workers' compensation law processes and reporting requirements. Strong report writing skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and thoroughly. Commitment to fostering a culture of safety through training & development initiatives.
