Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist for a contract opportunity supporting a large on-site construction project in Eagle Mountain, UT. This role is ideal for a safety professional with strong construction safety experience who enjoys working closely with field teams, project leadership, foremen, and subcontractors to promote safe work practices and reduce risk across active jobsite operations. The Safety Specialist will help drive an Incident and Injury Free Culture by supporting safety program implementation, conducting field observations, leading training, assisting with incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations and project requirements. This is a highly visible, field-facing role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee safety, project performance, and overall jobsite culture. Key Responsibilities:
Support the execution of the Project Safety Roadmap, Site Safety Plan, Safety Pre-Task Plans, Standard Work Instructions, and Personal Risk Assessments. Perform daily jobsite observations, safety audits, and field assessments to identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, and address unsafe behaviors. Partner with project leadership, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors to monitor compliance with company policies, project safety requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations. Lead project-specific safety orientations, facilitate safety training, support toolbox talks, and promote employee engagement in safety initiatives. Lead or support incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including corrective actions, documentation, case management, and safety reporting. Conduct inspections of tools, equipment, work permits, and safety systems related to high-risk activities such as confined space, excavation, fall protection, and equipment operation.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay range: $45 to $48 per hour. Contract/temporary assignment.

3+ months, likely to be extended.

Work style:
100% on-site. Per diem provided for eligible candidates, approximately $1,068 per week, typically based on 6 days.
