We are looking for well-qualified, hardworking individuals to help us "Keep Utah Moving". This role is essential for maintaining safety and efficiency on Utah's busiest roadways. About the Role Our Incident Management Specialists provide dedicated coverage of metro freeway sections. You will be the first responder for incident or crash clean-up, ensuring the restoration of efficient traffic flow after crashes, stalled cars, or hazardous material spills. By managing these scenes effectively, you protect emergency responders, road workers, and the motoring public from secondary accidents. In this position, you will coordinate directly with local government agencies and emergency services to address safety concerns and operational requirements. Because of the technical nature of the work, you will receive specialized training and certifications including traffic incident management (TIM), emergency vehicle operations, emergency traffic control, advanced first aid, communications, dealing with hazardous materials, towing, UASs, etc..

This role requires 24-hour, 7-day-a-week availability. You are considered on duty as soon as you leave your residence; therefore, this position does not receive on-call supplements. Mandatory overtime, varied work schedules, and rotating shifts (every three months). Work on holidays, weekends, and during inclement weather or emergencies. Shifts may extend based on the needs of UDOT.Background & Drug Screen:

Required prior to hire. You must be able to access the Utah Criminal Justice Information System (UCJIS). Access will be denied for felony convictions, computer fraud, or misuse of UCJIS information.Drug Test:
This position is subject to initial and random drug testing. Key Responsibilities Maintain composure and act decisively during high-stress, emergency, volatile or crisis situations. Communicate critical information clearly via radio dispatch and written reports. Apply Traffic Incident Management (TIM) techniques to reduce the duration of traffic delays. Identify hazards and implement safety interventions to prevent further injuries at a scene. Administer CPR and life-saving first aid until EMS arrives.Qualifications License:
Must possess a valid driver's license.Residency:

You must complete "Phase 1" of the five-phase training program within six months of hire (click here for more information). Failure to meet this timeline may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of traffic control principles in work zones or incident areas. Familiarity with the MUTCD, TIMS, NIMS, or ICS frameworks. Experience in safety and risk management related to transportation.Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Physical Demands:
This is a strenuous role requiring the ability to lift over 100 pounds and work in restricted spaces (climbing, crawling, or crouching).Environment:
Frequent exposure to high-speed traffic, adverse weather, and hazardous environments.Mental Health:
This position is at a high-risk of impacting the mental and emotional state. Due to frequent exposure to crash sites involving serious injuries or fatalities, incumbents are required to attend yearly mental health check-ins. Must be able to defend yourself from physical attack. Our Process (Approximately 3 months)Initial Review:

This will consist of a longer duration interview with the senior IMT team.
