Job Description

Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Join a passionate and accomplished team of EHS experts supporting various spaceflight systems. You will contribute to all aspects of EHS implementation and compliance programs, including OSHA General Industry and Construction standards, hazardous materials, cryogenics, compressed gases, lasers, robotics, fall protection, PPE, lockout/tagout, and radiation safety. We are looking for a driven professional with a passion for continuous improvement, building agile safety processes, and solving complex problems with practical solutions. You must be capable of acting with minimal direction and helping maintain a culture of accountability and attention to detail at all levels. A passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous process waste streams and recycling initiatives (50-60% of the time)
- Assist EHS management and engineering staff with on-site compliance for development, test, and manufacturing operations
- Conduct daily compliance inspections in accordance with Blue Origin Health and Safety programs
- Execute emergency response plans
- Develop employee and contractor knowledge of Safety Programs
- Assist in investigations of injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents
- Deliver EHS training and demonstrations
- Serve as a building or team focal point for all EHS issues and concerns
- Administer personal protective equipment per job hazard analysis requirements
- Support and develop job hazard analyses
- Perform periodic audits of Safety Programs Qualifications
- 5-7 years of proven experience in aerospace or industrial manufacturing (mid-level position)
- Availability to work weekend, day, or second shift hours as needed
- Associate degree in Environmental programs (hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, or related field), or equivalent experience, or currently pursuing a degree
- Self-starter and collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build relationships at all levels
- Strong computer proficiency, including the latest Microsoft Office programs
- Experienced forklift and powered industrial truck operator
- Must complete RCRA and DOT training within 30-90 days of hire for hazardous waste storage, disposal, and transportation
- Ability to operate electric vehicles and various material handling equipment for waste management
- Knowledge of incident reporting processes, including 5-Whys methodology
- Strong self-management skills to maintain weekly and monthly task commitments
- Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and close call reporting practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Preferred Qualifications
- 6-8 years of proven experience in environmental roles including hazardous waste management, general building inspections, and records management
- Knowledge of Washington State environmental and safety regulations
- First Aid, CPR, AED, and emergency response training Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $33.
