INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST
•Title 32, GS-0690-11, you will plan, schedule, execute, manage, and administer the installion-wide Industrial Hygiene/Bioenvironmental Engineering Program (IHH/BEE), which includes occupional health/industrial hygiene, radiion safety, and environmental monitoring to maintain and promote the health and well-being of military and technician personnel. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS
: Compible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective de of placement . This is an excepted service position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the employing ste's Nional Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Nional Guard must be eligible for immedie membership. Conditions of Employment:
Nional Guard Membership is required. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. May be required to successfully complete a probionary period. Must be able to obtain and maintain the approprie security clearance of the position. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours, overtime may be required. Qualificions
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Experience, educion, or training involving the planning, scheduling, executing, managing, and administering of Industrial Hygiene/Bioenvironmental Engineering programs.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: To qualify for the
GS-0690-11
level, applicant must have least 1 year of experience equivalent to GS-10 level. Qualifying experience may have been obtained in field, laborory, engineering, or other environment if the work provided a means of obtaining a professional knowledge of the theory and applicion of the principles of industrial hygiene and closely reled sciences such as physics and engineering controls. Such work must have involved experience in all of the following areas: the acquisition of quantitive and qualitive da, and the measurement of exposures for a variety of chemical, physical, and biological stresses; the analysis of the da acquired and the prediction of probable effects of exposures on the health and well-being of workers; and the selection and recommendion of approprie controls, including management, medical, engineering, educion or training, and personal protective equipment. Year Professional Degree:
Industrial hygiene; or a branch of engineering, physical science, or life science th included 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combinion of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene is optimum.
