Safety Specialist Oak Creek, WI 53154 Share Share Email Post Share Safety Specialist The primary function of the position is to identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage on large construction projects. This is a project-based role, most of the time will be spent on job sites interacting with our field leaders. This role will support the project team by implementing safety improvements that support our zero-incident culture. This role must share our vision that zero incidents is achievable.

Responsibilities:

Identify all major risk activities for project.

Perform job site safety analysis and implement safe work procedures.

Conduct safety inspections using STEP's platform, document findings, and implement corrective actions on a regular basis.

Lead project team in conducting safety audits / observations using STEP's platform.

Maintain project safety documentation, i.e. toolbox talks, safe starts, permits, accident reports, inspection reports, training logs, and general contractor and owner required documentation.

Conduct detailed incidents and near-miss investigations, work with safety director on claims management.

Develop and conduct safety training onsite as needed for project team.

Lead project team in daily safe start discussion and pre-shift stretching.

Participate in Grunau and project safety committees.

Lead process of building site specific safety plans for project.

Lead process of building safe work plans for at risk activities.

Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor's degree in safety related field preferred.

Working knowledge of

OSHA CFR 1926

standards.

First Aid and

CPR, OSHA 30

Hour certification.

5 years of construction experience on large projects is preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay dependent upon level of experience and education. Base Salary + annual incentive bonus tied to company performance.
