About the
Role:
The Lead Security position is a critical role responsible for overseeing and managing the security operations within an organization to ensure the safety of personnel, assets, and information. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The Lead Security professional will coordinate with various departments to assess risks, respond to incidents, and continuously improve security measures. They will also lead and mentor a team of security personnel, ensuring high standards of vigilance and professionalism. Ultimately, this role aims to create a secure environment that supports business continuity and protects the organization's reputation.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in security operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and risk management. Familiarity with security technology systems including CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring. Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or licenses as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP). Experience working in corporate, government, or high-security environments. Training in incident command systems, crisis management, or law enforcement. Strong background in cybersecurity principles and integration with physical security.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard organizational assets. Lead and supervise the security team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations. Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements. Coordinate responses to security incidents, including investigations, reporting, and corrective actions. Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Manage security technology systems such as surveillance cameras, access control, and alarm systems. Prepare detailed reports on security status, incidents, and activities for senior management. Stay current with emerging security threats, trends, and best practices to proactively enhance security measures.

The Lead Security role requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate the security team while coordinating with other departments. Analytical skills are essential for conducting thorough risk assessments and interpreting security data to make informed decisions.
