FUNCTION
Responsible for the efficient operation of the Security department on an assigned shift, acts as Security Shift Manager in their absence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a representative of the company, interacting with guests and team members in a courteous, professional manner. Implement departmental and property procedures, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate Security Officers on assigned shift. Patrol the property on assigned shift, identifying potential security and/or safety hazards, Act as a backup to Security Officers on assigned shift and assume their duties when necessary. Required to assist with crowd control during large indoor and outdoor events and display exemplary self-control and a level head during escalated situation. Responsible for the documentation of all information and the maintenance of all statistical reports. May include completing timesheets for payroll. Work with the Security Manager to maintain adequate staffing levels in the security department. May assist in interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, and disciplining team members, as needed. Make suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, for improvements to policies, procedures, or the facility. Ensure a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained. Facilitate the flow of information throughout the property by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings. Respond to all critical incidents reported on property during shift. Ability to consult on any incident and ensure that all reporting is completed properly and in a timely fashion. Report to Manager on Duty (MOD) during absence of Security Manager. Restrain intoxicated, disorderly, or unpleasant guests, removing then from the property if appropriate. Work closely with the Security leadership team to ensure all projects and assignments for the Security department are completed per appropriate policies and procedures and within appropriate time constraints. Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests. Using the Nugget's system of recognition, recognize team members who are going "above and beyond" as appropriate. Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager. Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same. Regular predictable attendance is required. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Security Shift Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 21 years of age.
EDUCATION LEVEL
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
LANGUAGE
Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or managerial position in a security, loss prevention, law enforcement, or related hotel/casino environment required.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Advanced report writing skills required. Proficient skills with Microsoft Office including, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power point.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Employee Gaming registration required. Alcohol Awareness Certification within the first 30 days required. Valid Nevada driver's license and clean 3-year DMV record required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs. Fine finger manipulation. Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
