Job Description

CAMPUS OPERATIONS & SECURITY MANAGER SUMMARY
The Campus Operations & Security Manager provides leadership and operational oversight of facility management, environmental services, physical security, and emergency preparedness across Esperanza Healthcare Center facilities. The position serves a dual role of ensuring safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environments for patients, staff, and visitors while meeting the maintenance and development needs of the organization. This position supervises custodial and security functions and may provide direct frontline operational support when necessary to maintain service continuity. Facilities Management Serve as the primary steward of Esperanza's three facilities, overseeing all interior and exterior cleaning, maintenance, and capital improvement activities needed to sustain safe, pleasant, and welcoming environments for patients, staff, and the public. Lead and direct the custodial supervisor and staff in scheduled daily and periodic cleaning activities; oversee the identification and scheduling of planned maintenance and expedite repairs as needed. Ensure compliance with all state and local codes for facility and environmental safety, including maintaining appropriate licenses and certifications. Monitor and manage maintenance contracts for equipment and environmental services; participate in the identification and selection of vendors and partners as appropriate. Annually develop and manage the facilities budget in partnership with the Associate Operations Director; develop and manage annual and long-range (three-year) capital budgets. Support operational logistics including room setup, furniture movement, and special facilities projects. Develops and maintains tracking systems for the inspection, maintenance, and upkeep of facility infrastructure and equipment, including elevators, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, fire suppression and sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, generators, roofing, and building access control systems. Campus Operations & Environmental Services Oversee public access points and common areas across all facilities to ensure safe, organized, and mission-aligned environments. Ensure assigned staff provide appropriate greeting, assistance, and workflow support throughout the campus. Coordinate shipping and receiving processes and ensure adherence to established procedures. Ensure Shared Spaces and common areas remain clean, organized, and safe through coordination with custodial and facilities staff. Support coordination of patient flow and visitor access across facilities in collaboration with clinical and operations leadership. Monitor activity across buildings, entrances, parking areas, and common spaces and ensure timely response to issues in accordance with established protocols. Provide direct frontline coverage for environmental services, monitoring, or security functions when staffing shortages or operational needs require. Safety & Security Management Oversee physical security operations to safeguard buildings, grounds, assets, employees, patients, and visitors. Ensure appropriate security staffing, systems, fire and life safety measures, and response protocols are in place to mitigate risks including accidents, fires, and natural disasters. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate security personnel in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Coordinate access control, surveillance systems, and alarm monitoring. Monitor security logs, investigate incidents, and prepare reports with corrective action recommendations. Liaise with local police and partner organizations as needed. Ensure staff awareness of security responsibilities through training and communication initiatives. Participate in an environment of care and safety rounds. Support the development and maintenance of Emergency Operations Plans for each facility in accordance with regional and national best practices. Conduct and log periodic emergency drills and tabletop exercises; incorporate lessons learned into updated plans. Policy & Procedure Development Develop, implement, and maintain organizational policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures related to facilities management, environmental services, safety, and security. Ensure policies remain compliant with regulatory requirements and reflect operational best practices. Conduct periodic review and revision of policies and procedures and coordinate staff training on updates. Competencies Self-directed and motivated Facilities or operations management experience in a supervisory capacity Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in conflict resolution techniques Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse ages, backgrounds, and life experiences Independent thinker and effective problem-solver Ability to integrate faith into work-related tasks Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; security experience or security management experience preferred. Proven experience in facilities or operations management, with customer service responsibility Familiarity with building systems, maintenance operations, and vendor management Familiarity with closed-circuit television, alarm systems, and building access control systems Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), internet browsers, and email clients Strong written and verbal communication skills for both individual and group audiences Working Conditions Ability to spend 75% of work time on their feet Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to drive a company vehicle Weekend and evening hours variability can be expected
