The Security Officer ensures a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all guests, employees, and property across NHG Denali locations, including restaurants, bars, breweries, and lodging facilities. This role involves monitoring access, preventing unsafe or disruptive behavior, and responding quickly and appropriately to incidents. The ideal candidate is alert, decisive, physically capable, and committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons and staff. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Monitor entrances and verify guest identity, including checking IDs and cover charges when applicable. Observe patrons for unsafe, aggressive, or disruptive behavior and intervene as needed. Respond quickly to incidents, de-escalate conflicts, and involve law enforcement when necessary. Protect company property, equipment, and guests from damage or theft. Maintain situational awareness at all times; detect falsified identification or suspicious behavior. Physically remove or restrain individuals in accordance with company policy and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with management, staff, and law enforcement as needed. Report all incidents, observations, and maintenance/security concerns accurately and promptly. Follow all company safety procedures, legal regulations, and operational policies.Competencies:

Work occurs in restaurants, bars, breweries, lodging facilities, and outdoor areas. Noise levels can be loud; surfaces may be uneven or slippery. Exposure to hazards such as slips, trips, falls, and adverse weather conditions in Denali, Alaska (spring and fall) may occur. Frequent interaction with staff in food prep areas requires hand hygiene and adherence to sanitation standards.Physical Demands:
Requires extended standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 80 lbs repeatedly. Requires alert observation, quick judgment, and physical intervention when necessary. Must be able to stand for full shifts.Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
Primarily evening and nighttime shifts. Hours vary depending on business volume and special events.Benefits & Perks:
