Responsibilities Monitor the premises using CCTV surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity and ensure safety protocols are followed. Control access to behavioral health facilities by verifying identities of staff, visitors, and vendors, ensuring authorized entry at all times. Conduct regular patrols of the facility to identify potential security risks or safety hazards and address them promptly. Respond effectively to emergencies or conflicts by utilizing conflict management skills, first aid knowledge, CPR certification, and law enforcement collaboration when necessary. Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security records to document all activities and occurrences accurately. Assist with loss prevention efforts by observing for theft or vandalism and intervening appropriately while respecting patient rights. Support a therapeutic environment by managing difficult situations with empathy, de-escalating conflicts safely and professionally. Experience Prior experience in security roles within healthcare, behavioral health settings, or law enforcement is highly desirable. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in conflict management or crisis intervention is a plus. Familiarity with surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras and security equipment is preferred. Background in military service or law enforcement provides valuable skills applicable to this role.
