Guard Kern Energy - 1.0 Bakersfield, CA Job Details Full-time $22.75 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Position Summary The Guard is responsible for controlling access to the refinery, checking in and out trucks and contractors, verifying documentation, and monitoring the site for potential security or safety risks. Stationed primarily at the guard shack, this role ensures that only authorized personnel and vehicles enter or exit the facility. The successful candidate will exhibit Kern's core values of Teamwork, Safety, Excellence, Integrity, and Connection. Job Function Greet and check in all drivers, contractors, and visitors entering the facility. Verify that vehicles have proper permits, documentation, and safety compliance before allowing entry. Maintain accurate visitor and vehicle logs, including entry/exit times. Provide instructions and site orientation to drivers and visitors as needed. Monitor site entrances and perimeters for security or safety risks. Report suspicious activity, security violations, or incidents to appropriate personnel. Provide customer service and act as first point of contact for individuals entering the site. Maintain daily shift logs and submit required reports. Assist in emergency response by directing vehicles and personnel to safe areas. Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of safety and security protocols. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to remain alert, professional, and detail-oriented. Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
