$21•25 /hour About Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) is a Catholic, Dominican, independent, college-preparatory day and boarding high school for young women. Position Summary The Campus Safety Officer plays a vital role in fostering a safe, secure, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for proactive campus patrol, emergency response, visitor management, traffic and parking oversight, and general safety operations. Campus Safety Officers serve as visible ambassadors of the school, balancing approachability with vigilance, and are expected to respond effectively to routine and emergency situations while upholding the mission and values of FSHA. Key Responsibilities Campus Safety & Security Conduct routine patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and parking areas (on foot and by vehicle) to ensure safety and security. Monitor for and report hazards such as fire risks, unsafe conditions, suspicious activity, or property damage. Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and calls for service; take appropriate action to protect life and property. Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and maintain logs of daily activities. Open, secure, and monitor campus facilities according to schedules and event needs. Assist in emergency preparedness efforts, including drills, inspections, and safety program support. Support and, when necessary, coordinate with local law enforcement, fire, or medical personnel. Visitor Management & Customer Service Serve as a primary point of contact at entry points or front desk stations. Register visitors, issue badges, and ensure adherence to campus access protocols. Provide directions and assistance to students, families, staff, and guests in a professional and welcoming manner. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all interactions. Traffic, Parking & Transportation Direct traffic and manage parking during arrival, dismissal, and special events. Issue parking permits and enforce campus parking policies. Safely transport students and staff for school-related activities, as needed. Operations & Support Assist with safety inspections (e.g., fire extinguishers, alarms, locks, emergency equipment). Help maintain safety supplies, reports, and documentation systems. Provide support to Facilities and Operations teams with non-technical tasks as needed. Assist with mail/package handling during non-instructional periods. Events & Schedule Flexibility Provide safety coverage for school events, which may include evenings and weekends. Adjust schedule as needed for training, coverage, or special assignments. Some positions may include early morning, overnight, or holiday coverage. Qualifications Education & Experience 2+ years of experience in campus safety, security, law enforcement, or related fields preferred. Experience working in a school or youth-centered environment is strongly preferred. Certifications Valid California Guard Card (required or must be obtained within 30-60 days of hire) Completion ofSB 1626 & SB 390
