6:00 PM - 2:00 AM Job Summary We are looking for a professional, sharp, and reliable Doorman to join our team for our Thursday and Sunday night shifts. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will set the tone for a safe, welcoming, and high-energy environment. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills to de-escalate situations calmly, a commanding presence, and a sharp eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities ID Verification:

Strictly verify legal drinking age (21+) by checking IDs at the door using legal guidelines and checking for counterfeit identification.

Crowd Control:

Manage the entrance, monitor venue capacity, and ensure smooth guest entry and exit.

Safety Monitoring:

Patrol the bar area, restrooms, and patio to spot underage drinking, over-intoxication, or disruptive behavior.

Conflict Resolution:

De-escalate verbal and physical altercations professionally and swiftly using minimal force, ensuring the safety of guests and staff.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with bartenders, floor staff, and management to maintain total control of the venue.

Emergency Response:

Assist in emergency protocols and coordinate with local La Mesa law enforcement if necessary.

Qualifications & Skills Licensing:

Valid California PPSO (Proprietary Private Security Officer) or Guard Card strongly preferred (must be registered with the BSIS).

Experience:

1+ years of experience in bar security, nightlife bouncer roles, or related security fields preferred.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for the duration of an 8-hour late-night shift. Ability to physically intervene to protect patrons and property if legally required.

Skills:

Strong verbal communication and active listening. Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure.

Availability:

Must be reliably able to work the designated Thursday and Sunday evening/late-night blocks, and be available to cover other nights and holidays when needed.

Pay:

$22.00 per hour
