Overview Join our dynamic security team as a Part-Time/On-Call Security Officer, where your vigilance and dedication will help maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your security expertise in diverse settings, ensuring safety protocols are followed and incidents are managed effectively. As a vital part of our team, you'll be empowered to utilize your skills in surveillance, emergency response, and conflict management to protect property, assets, and people. Your proactive approach will contribute to a secure atmosphere that fosters confidence and peace of mind. Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical patrols to monitor for suspicious activity or security breaches. Control access points utilizing advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors. Respond promptly to emergencies by following established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security threats; operate AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and Taser devices when necessary. Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities with clarity and accuracy. Perform background checks on new personnel or visitors as part of the access verification process to ensure compliance with security policies. Manage conflict de-escalation techniques to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety for all parties involved. Assist in loss prevention efforts by monitoring CCTV footage and conducting manual inspections to deter theft or vandalism. Requirements Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable. Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation, and emergency response procedures is required; additional training in Taser use and firearm handling is a plus. Strong knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control management. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or incident management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to write comprehensive incident reports clearly and accurately. Demonstrated conflict management skills with a focus on de-escalation techniques in high-pressure situations. Physical fitness to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods; capable of performing heavy lifting safely when required.
