  • Saturday 2200-0600 (32 hours weekly) These schedules are guaranteed and may have opportunities for overtime!
Float officers are critical members of the Patrol Solutions team, you will be responsible for maintaining continuous security coverage across all client sites in your district. This role involves filling immediate staffing gaps caused by call offs, sick leave, vacations and other unplanned absences. Success in this position requires a high level of adaptability, professionalism and strict adherence to company policies and site specific post orders.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position. Float Officers are scheduled for a minimum of 32 hours a week. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable laws for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek. Each Float Officer is assigned a "Home Base" site within their operating district. Travel between your home and the assigned "Home Base" is considered a normal commute and is not reimbursed. Mileage IS reimbursed for travel between the assigned "Home Base" and site in which you cover during your shift, if you cover more than one site during your shift you will be paid milage between each site. Minimum Licensing and Eligibility Requirements:
Must have a CLEAN Drivers record for the past three years. Must have reliable transportation. Must possess a current BSIS Guard Card. Must possess a current BSIS Baton Permit Must possess a current BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit Must own your own firearm and gear such as duty belt and holsters for your weapons Must own your own physical Baton and OC Mace Canisters Must possess a current OC / Pepper Spray Certification Must possess a current CPR /
First Aid Certification Skills and Education Requirements:
Prior security experience, minimum of 1 year in an armed security position. Adapt quickly to new environments, teams and post requirements. Ability to read, write and understand and carry out written orders, policies, procedures, and instructions. Ability to write and understand English Demonstrate a positive attitude, outstanding customer service skills, and take the initiative in completing assigned tasks. Willing to accept shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime if needed. Reliable transportation Friendly and professional demeanor Able to pass a drug test and background check Float Security Professional Responsibilities may include: Possess and maintain valid BSIS and other necessary permits. Conduct vehicle/foot patrols alone Patrol and maintain general security of assigned property as described in Post Orders / SOP. Utilize a smartphone or similar device to maintain a Daily Activity Report, and create Incident and Facility Maintenance Reports. Maintain consistent performance, attendance, uniform appearance, and professional grooming. Maintain professional communications with clients, colleagues, and the public. Respond to emergency calls, including medical, fire, and damage to property.
Attendance and Reliability Standards:
Reliability is essential due to the roles responsibility in covering critical staffing needs. Call offs must follow company procedures and be reported to Dispatch at least 4 hours prior to the shift. Email or text notification of call offs are not acceptable. Officers are expected to arrive on-site no earlier than 5 minutes before the scheduled shift start and clock in on time. Excessive tardiness and No Call No Shows may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. We're looking for an employee to protect our organization's facilities. You will be responsible for patrolling our facilities and detecting unauthorized activities. Security guard tasks include maintaining an awareness of the environment and ensuring the safety of employees and visitors. As a security guard, you must also be in good physical shape since you will spend a lot of time on your feet, walking around, observing, and assessing situations. High attention to detail is required as you need to respond to emergency situations and emergency calls.
